Rob Calaby

Director/ Property Sales / Auctioneer

Rob Calaby has been living and working in the Mid North of South Australia for 34 years which almost makes him a local. His time in the Industry dates back to 1987 as a junior in a stock firm sweeping floors and dealing with customers in Balaklava. It was in those early days where his strong work ethic, exceptional customer service and passion to deliver on his promises began.

In the years following this, Rob has held corporate management positions, founded and managed highly successful business’s and above all developed strong friendships and business contacts throughout his appointments across the country.

Rob founded Ruralco Property/Calaby Real Estate in Clare back in 2010. Early in 2020 the business re-branded dropping off Ruralco Property and launched Calaby Real Estate as a standalone brand. The business has grown year in year out and is continually working to deliver above our clients expectations.

Striving to be the best at whatever he does, keeps him on top of his game and drives him to deliver on his promises to every client he works with whether its selling a small house block in the town or the family farm, they are all as equally important as each other and delivering on his commitment is what Rob is all about.

Rob and his family have been living in the Clare Valley for the past 19 years. His family is heavily involved within the community and love living in this magnificent part of the State.

Tren Vine

Sales Agent

Tren Vine came from a farming background in the South East of the South Australia. Tren moved into the Stock and Station business at many locations spanning three states, and has held a Real Estate Agents licence since 1973. During his time in Real Estate, Tren has transacted many sales in all facets of the market including Residential, Commercial, broad-acre farms, pastoral properties, the sale of vineyards and winery assets and large clearing sales.

Tren and his family moved to the Clare Valley in 1993 and has been involved in Real Estate sales since that time. During that time, Tren has operated his own business, worked for a large company and is now part of the Calaby Real Estate business.

“The Calaby Real Estate business is a really good fit for me with the strength of the new brand and our large existing client base. It makes this a great business for me to be a part of” Tren said.

Lisa Curnow

An enthusiastic, determined professional with a natural flair for real estate, Lisa Curnow is an asset to the talented Calaby Real Estate team. Lisa was drawn to Calaby Real Estate because of the company’s strong desire to lead the way with innovation and quality marketing and enjoys the energy of working with a highly motivated team.

Bringing a fresh and honest approach to her role, Lisa’s energy and affable personality are immediately apparent upon meeting her. Having spent her entire life on the Adelaide Plains, she has a comprehensive knowledge of all that it has to offer and loves the lifestyle it provides.

Stuart Woodman

Having spent 45 years of his lifetime in the Adelaide Hills and Barossa, Stuart Woodman has a strong connection to the region, making him the ideal addition to our sales team. Honest, approachable, friendly and reliable, Stuart has a strong sense of community from being heavily involved on school committees and in numerous sporting clubs and organisations. Previous employment with Wesfarmers and over 20 years in the wine industry has provided Stuart with a large network of connections and various circles of influence. Stuart is looking forward to expanding the Calaby Real Estate brand into an area where it all began for the company’s Director. Mellissa Helbig

Property Manager

Mel Helbig is a professional property Manager with over 20 years’ experience, nominated and winning many prestigious Property Management Awards with the Real Estate Institute of SA.

Mel is fully qualified, holding Certificate 3 in Property Services, Certificate 4 in Real Estate Operations and her full Property Management Licence, she is ready to look after your business in a professional manner.

In Property Management, the main objectives are to keep cash flowing in, keep problems with tenants to a minimum, and maintain the condition of your property, thus maintaining and improving your bottom line. Mel attributes Calaby Real Estates Property Management success to placing good tenants in the properties that we manage from the very beginning. This is all achieved by thoroughly checking credit, verifying employment, and speaking to past landlords and personal references. With this in place we are able to avoid surprises and potential problems down the road.

Living locally in Clare for over 40 years, Mel loves the local regional community.

Brooke Edmonds

Brooke enjoys the ever-changing environment of real estate and loves meeting new people and helping buyers and sellers in what can be a very emotional time in their lives. A very easy going and approachable Sales Agent, with local knowledge, Brooke is an asset to the team. After spending 6 years in the Northern Territory as a Sales Agent and Property Manager, Brooke relocated her family back to the Clare Valley region bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in Real Estate dealings.

Brooke is thoroughly enjoying being back home with her family, appreciating the laid-back country lifestyle and the beautiful scenery, as well as the wine and food!

Diesy O'Driscoll

After over 20 years working in the rural merchandise industry, Diesy made the change to Real Estate in October 2014, to work with the Ruralco Property team. Together Diesy and Gabi look after the ‘engine room’ of the business. From office administration, assisting in property settlements, vendor accounts and making sure we embrace technology to provide a point a difference to our competitors. Diesy’s strengths are her strong work ethic, and enthusiastic approach and ability to maintain the harmony of our team with her bubbly personality.

Sharon Allen

Administration Balaklava

Calaby Real Estate is a professional, honest and friendly team that Sharon is proud to be a member of.

Sharon has been at the helm of the Balaklava office providing administration and assisting Lisa Curnow since 2020, and provides a welcoming and inviting atmosphere to the office.

Sharon grew up in the small town of Mallala and now lives locally with her family in Balaklava. Sharon has worked locally throughout her career creating a strong and friendly work ethic and a willingness to provide exceptional customer service.

She is a friendly, mature and approachable person who is part of growing team at Calaby Real Estate.

Being born into the rural lifestyle and industry has been a fantastic start to my life and with country life and a family farming background, I have had the opportunity of learning the value of good working ethics and management skills, which have equipped me with great tools for the future.

Raising a family and living in a rural community for half of my life has provided me with an understanding of the rural sector, the reasons for buying and selling, the expectations and goals of clients and their various phases in life. The past 20 years my working life has been focused on the livestock industry and a little real estate.

My involvement has been tracking market trends, maximising selling periods and providing marketing options. I now want to bring this experience, knowledge, honesty, integrity and the reputation I have built throughout my working life, to a real estate position.

Joining forces with the Calaby Real Estate team, an established team based in the mid north of SA, along with the principle (Rob Calaby), has given me access to network sales, advertising and experienced technical support to fully service the Fleurieu, Adelaide Hills and Mallee regions.
